Our School Disco

We all had great fun at the Disco today. The theme was black and white and the hall looked brilliant. There were lots of competitions and we were proud that Mitchell won one of the prizes.

Long jump skills

The long jump group made great progress with their technique today. We watched each other and shared our successes.

There was plenty of planting at Garden Club today

We had a busy session at Garden Club today. The strawberries and lettuces were weeded and sweet corn seeds were planted. Another group planted tomatoes in the tunnel house and courgettes were planted in pots ready for transplanting later.

A Second Paper Tower Challenge

We returned to paper tower building today but there was an extra challenge. The tower had to stay upright during an earthquake and during a hurricane. There was a lot of discussion and the towers are becoming stronger.

We have new children in our class

Ella and Declan have joined our class. We are really pleased to welcome them into Room 9. Can you spot them?

A newspaper technology challenge

We have started the term with a newspaper technology challenge. Our first task was to work in teams to create a tower using three pieces of paper and one metre of tape. There was a lot of discussion and then the towers started to rise. Tomorrow we will attempt this again but we now have lots of new ideas to try.

Preparing for the Athletics Sports

Today we started work on our athletics skills. Our first task was to remember how to do a sprint start. We then checked our running styles so that we could run faster. There were some very speedy children on the field today!
