What a crowd at Garden Club!

We are still harvesting at Garden Club but today we also planted a winter green crop that we will later dig into the soil. We covered the new seeds to protect them from the birds. 24 bags of vegetables were taken home today and Ollie was certainly pleased with his bag.

Our monarch butterfly has hatched

When we got to school today we found a brand new monarch butterfly gently flapping its wings. It was beautiful. It was a perfect day to release it and we all watched as it sailed up above our heads and landed in a tree. Some of us watched it for ages and finally, Pyper saw it fly away over the hall. We hope the rain won't bother it tonight!

Hoiho house gets to know each other.

All the houses met together on Friday to learn their new house chant. The house leaders then organised some great games. Hoiho had fun with the parachute before playing a huge game of cat and mouse.

The Taieri - our turangawaewae

We have been creating a Taieri landscape and we were very pleased on Friday when Daniel brought a plane. We can now imagine the Momona airport close by.

Yesterday I got my glasses and I brought them to school. I really like them and they look really cool.

Measuring for area

Today we were learning how to find the area of a shape. We pretended we were finding out how much carpet we needed. We had to work slowly and carefully.

Lunchtime at Outram School.

Two groups of children were very busy having a touch practice. Don't forget there is another practice tomorrow. In the Allen Centre Ethan, Daniel, Tyler and Jessie were making frog bookmarks while Kurt was working at his sketching.
