Pip and Harold are great!
We were back in the van today and we talked about bucket fillers and bucket dippers. We also talked about Head Hassler and Mind Master and how we have to choose to stay above the line. It really made us think a lot. Thank you Pip, your van is terrific.
This morning it was -7 degrees when we came to school!
Yesterday I found a frosty leaf and I gave it to Mrs Wright. She took a photo of it. It was really, really cold!

I found my leaf out by the school fence. It was icy around the edges. I brought it inside to share it and then I had to take it quickly outside because it was melting.

When I was out by the Harold truck I found this cube of ice. It was a freezing morning. It is warmer today.

The Room 9 Little Theatre was open today
Today the Koalas presented a play called 'The Working Holiday' and then asked us some very tricky questions. Great acting and great questions children!
We are ready for Kite Day
As part of our Matariki celebrations, we are planning a Kite Day tomorrow. Today everyone was able to make a kite in the Allen centre and now all we need is a little wind tomorrow to make them fly!

Matariki kites
It was a very cold start to the day but that didn't stop the Matariki kites from arriving. We are having a kite week and each day we plan to fly kites out on the field. Sadly today there was absolutely no wind at all. We will try again tomorrow.
Another treat today!
We were so pleased to visit Pip and Harold in the Life Education van today. We are thinking about being "Bucket Fillers," and staying above the line. We will certainly be practicing these skills.
A wonderful performance by the New Zealand Playhouse
What a treat we had this morning when we went to the hall for a performance from the New Zealand Playhouse. We saw many fairy tale characters appear in this fast moving story about the effect of social media on real communication. There was something for everyone in this performance.
