The Garden Club is up and running again

We worked hard today clearing silver beet and lettuce and spinach from the gardens and then we planted potatoes. The strawberries are already planted and the peas are in flower. What a wonderful place to grow vegetables.

The Key Competencies

This term we are focusing on the Key Competency of participating and contributing. First we talked about Gregory Smith the remarkable boy who has made a significant contribution to helping children in need around the world. Next we talked about brilliant Bridgette who is setting up a book swap initiative based on the Lilliput Libraries. The book swap will be open Thursday and Friday. What a great contribution Bridgette! We then talked about the wonderful contribution our parents make to Outram School. We are very excited that the new recipe book will be launched on Sunday. Then we talked about Aleisha Cotton and Kelsey Hoggard and the wonderful contribution they made to some schools in Samoa. We looked at examples around Outram School where we have seen children participating and contributing. This week we looked at the contribution that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is making.
