Mr Marshall came visiting

We were very pleased to have a visit today from our new principal Mr Marshall. We had written letters to introduce ourselves and included a photo to help him remember our names. Mr Marshall was able to answer lots of our questions. Did you know that he loves to play hockey and to go kayaking? Come again soon Mr Marshall.

Look who came visiting today

Today our new principal Mr Marshall came for a visit. It was great to meet him and lots of us introduced ourselves to him at playtime and lunchtime. Mr Marshall comes from Pleasant Point School in South Canterbury. What sort of questions would you like to ask Mr Marshall?

The Key Competencies

This term we are focusing on the Key Competency of participating and contributing. First we talked about Gregory Smith the remarkable boy who has made a significant contribution to helping children in need around the world. Next we talked about brilliant Bridgette who is setting up a book swap initiative based on the Lilliput Libraries. The book swap will be open Thursday and Friday. What a great contribution Bridgette! We then talked about the wonderful contribution our parents make to Outram School. We are very excited that the new recipe book will be launched on Sunday. Then we talked about Aleisha Cotton and Kelsey Hoggard and the wonderful contribution they made to some schools in Samoa. We looked at examples around Outram School where we have seen children participating and contributing. This week we looked at the contribution that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is making.
