Visiting a shopping mall

It is the holy month of Ramadan in Qatar. This is a time when people fast during the day. Fasting means to go without food and water. The shopping mall was decorated for Ramadan and all the eating places like McDonalds were closed. Dates are traditionally eaten to mark the end of the fast each day at a special meal called Iftar. The supermarket had a big display of different types of dates. I was glad that I didn't need to fast and that we could enjoy breakfast and lunch at our apartment.

Wow Mrs Wright what an adventure. Was it busy in the mall? What was your most favourite bit about your magnificent holiday? What type of food was there? Was it normal like our food or was it different? What was the temperature? The Mall looks awesome. For my holiday I went to Oara to do some snowboarding and skiing. My brother had his birthday so he got to invite his best friend to stay at our new holiday house in Omarama.

What wonderful questions Ezra. The mall was very quiet because it is the month of Ramadan, a holy month for muslim people. A lot of people would have been at home. Some of their food was the same as ours. They had a McDonalds in the mall. It was incredibly hot - 48 - 50 degrees and that is hot. It was the middle of summer after all.
