Painting with a focus

This week we are learning how a limited number of colours can be used to create an effect. We used red, green, blue and purple. The same colour was not allowed to be next to each other and we could only use the 4 colours.

3-legged race for writing time?

On Monday we all got to do something super exciting - either do an egg and spoon race or a 3-legged race. Lots of us had never done a 3-legged race before so it was so new. There was certainly a lot of co-operation!
After all the racing we wrote recounts about our time outside.  What a fun writing time it was!

Learning to use Venn Diagrams

We have started learning about Celebrations. Today we were learning about how to use a Venn diagram. Each pair had to discuss what things were the same and what things were different about how they each celebrated their own birthdays. Very appropriate as today Michael turned 9!

Super Printer

Wow! Look at Hannah's wonderful printing. It was so great that she received a Principal's Award!
Well done super star.

Taieri College comes to visit

We were all so excited this morning when Mr Marshall popped his head in the door and said "9.30 in the hall for the Music Roadshow".
A group came along from Taieri College to share some songs that they had written.

Can you spot the ex-Outram pupil in the photo?
One musician even played guitar behind his head!
What a very talented bunch of musicians!

Where are you?

An interesting question today - I wonder where Mrs Wright is at the moment?

So.....Mrs Wright if you can get wi-fi we would love to know where in Spain you are and how far you have walked so far!

Term 3 begins!

What a fabulous start to Term 3!  I had such a lovely warm welcome from Room 9, and I really look forward to working with them for the next 8 weeks while Mrs Wright is in Spain.
Mrs Paterson

Today we finished assembly and then we promptly started Hockey training with Steph.  We will be having hockey training for the next 4 weeks on a Monday at 10am.  We were experts and there are some very talented hockey players in Room 9.
We learned how to be safe with a hockey stick, how to dribble the ball, indian dribble and how to bounce the ball on the end of the hockey stick.  Liam Br was the champion at this!!

Look at our wonderful hockey players below:

Our buckets were full!

Today everyone emptied their buckets and what a lot of surprises. Everyone had letters to read saying thank you for kindnesses they had done. What a wonderful class. Keep shining Room 9!

A brand new newspaper for Outram School

What a surprise to have a visit from Bridgette bringing us our very own copies of the recently published Outram School newspaper. A group of children in Bridgette's class are going to produce the paper once a term. Thank you Room 6!
