An autumn tree in the classroom

Today we shared our autumn sentences in assembly. We used lots of adjectives, verbs and adverbs to make our sentences interesting. We also used lots of expression when we recited them by memory. Well done everyone!

Craig Smith comes visiting

Yesterday we listened to the story "Wonky Donkey" and we laughed and laughed and laughed! Imagine our delight when today we could meet the author, Craig Smith in our own classroom with a skype call. We asked lots of questions and then Craig actually sang the Wonky Donkey song to us. We were so so lucky. Thank you Craig!

Autumn Leaf Art

Everywhere there are glorious autumn leaves so we decided to paint some. We went into the Workshop and carefully drew with chalk. Then we carefully chose our colours so that the leaves looked real. Well done Trampus, Mason and Ethan.

Life Education Bus

Finally it was our turn to go into the Life Education van. It is terrific. We helped Harold do his homework so that he could go on the trip tomorrow. We found out about the air that we breathe and where it goes in our bodies. Tomorrow we have a second visit. Hooray!!

We love the Allen Centre

Every Wednesday we race to the Allen Centre to meet Mrs Stedman and Mrs Meehan. We choose new books and we discover what new adventure we will be on. Guess what! We are taking old birds' nests apart and we can find out what the birds use, where the nest may have been found and perhaps what sort of bird made it. Fancy making a nest with just your beak!

Scientist Sean shares with the class

Scientist Sean has moved on from bouncing eggs to bottle gardens. Tyla, Gabby and Annalise loved hearing Sean talk about his project. Thank you Sean.

Precious Things!

As part of our inquiry unit we wrote about something that was precious to us. Today Ben and Gene brought their precious friends to school. We loved meeting them boys.

We are starting the term with a week focusing on Anzac Day. Then we will continue our respect theme by considering how we can respect the world that we live in. What ideas do you already have about respecting our world?

Five fabulous fast finishers

Kimberly, Emma, Jessica, Willow and Gabby finished the elephant puzzle in record time in maths today. Each elephant is made of four parts - a set picture, a number, an expanded numeral and also written as tens and ones. Well done girls!

Trent brings a baby rabbit

We were very pleased to see Trent's baby rabbit. Trent gently shared the rabbit with the class and we were all careful not to frighten it. This is a baby wild rabbit. Why do you think wild rabbits are a problem in New Zealand?

Reach for Respect Dress Up Day

On Thursday, Room 8 and Room 9 dressed up as someone they respected. Both classes came together to share. Can you guess who Ethan, Riley D, Riley A, Jessica and Ben respect? Joel respects his big brother because he helps him at home and looks after him when they are out. He wore his brother's college shirt to school.
