Oh what a disco!

We all gathered in the hall at 5pm for the Junior Disco. The school Council had decorated it with style. Everyone danced and danced and danced! Andrew received a prize for being the best dancer and Ted was voted the best dressed boy. We all felt very proud of them.

We shared our celebration posters

The posters are all finished and this afternoon we travelled around the world as we listened to the celebrations of other cultures. There were a lot of questions and discussion. We have three more to listen to tomorrow.

King's High Road Show

Today students from King's High School came to visit us. They presented us with a variety of musical items. Rylan was very pleased that one of the guitar players shared a song that he can play! What a great start to the day.

What a wonderful surprise!

Today we had a surprise visit from the local Rotary group. Mr Lord talked with us and then each Year 4 was presented with a beautiful dictionary. What generosity!  What kindness!  We were very pleased to meet Bridgette's grandparents, Mr and Mrs Sutton, who came to present the books.

Co-operation and teamwork

Oh what a happy hum when everyone co-operates and works as a team. Our celebrations around the world posters are nearly completed. Tomorrow we will report back to the class. Well done everyone!

What a collection!

My shells are from Samoa.  They are cool. My favourite one is the one in the top corner on the right. I still have some spaces for collecting more shells.

Grand Slam

Every five weeks if all homework is complete, children are rewarded with a free fifteen minutes. This is very much enjoyed. Today the grand slam group found plenty to do.

Celebration posters are nearly finished

There was great activity in Room 9 today as everyone worked hard to complete their poster. Tomorrow we will do the last details and then we will start presenting them.

Celebrations around the world

What a busy afternoon we had! Working in pairs we continued to read our information sheet and we decided on the important facts. After proof reading we began to work on our posters, remembering to write clearly and set out the information in a viewer friendly way.

Inuit Cardboard Prints

We began by thinking of simple Inuit images that we could use. Then we used cardboard to cut out our designs. Finally we chose wax crayons to make the print. Come in and see our designs.

Welcome back girls, welcome Ethan's dog and sandpit excavations!

It was great to welcome Bella and Demi back and we enjoyed listening to their travels. Then Ethan and his Mum brought his dog to visit us. We thought she was a puppy but no, she is a miniature dog and she has had puppies! In the sandpit there was great activity as tunnels and bridges were made and rivers flowed.

Big Buddy games

Today we raced outside with our Big Buddies to play clap catch. It was a great game and the Big Buddies were really helpful. Rylan was the champion in his game.

Our gymnastics skills are developing

Wonderful parent support today meant that we had 5 different activities in our rotation. It is great to have short queues which allows us to have many turns.
