Fishy Art

Today we had our second session on our tropical fish. In the first lesson we studied photos and made many sketches. We chose our favourite sketch to make into our models. Today we painted the background designs. Next we will add all the details and that will be especially fun.

Keeping ourselves safe with Constable Ross

For the first three weeks of the term we are involved with the "Keeping ourselves safe" programme. Today Constable Ross came in to talk to us about surprises and secrets. We all enjoyed the session and the DVD. Thank you Constable Ross.

Now we have our own "Wonky Donkey"

Craig Smith has given us our very own copy of the "Wonky Donkey." Gosh, thank you very much Craig.

The Allen Centre is brilliant

Every Wednesday we have a special library time in the Allen Centre and we LOVE it. There are always new books to find and share and there is always a quiet corner to curl up with a new book. Ah bliss!

What great progress Emma

Every week Emma goes to the sketching group in the Allen Centre and now her little brother Jacob has joined the group too. She is working on a sketch of a zebra and we are looking forward to seeing it when it is finished. What a fine artist you are Emma.

A new friend

Today we walked around the Doha Souq. The Souq is an old market place where you can buy anything from spices, to falcons (birds not cars). One part was the pet area and that's where I met this beautiful parrot. Today it was 47 degrees which was very very hot indeed. I wonder what the temperature will be at Momona airport. See you soon.

Now here's a quiz for you

When we were in the desert at Wadi Rum, I rode a camel and I loved the ride. Camels live very happily in the desert. Can you tell me why?

What an adventure!

Greetings from the Dead Sea where you really can float so, so easily. First we covered ourselves in special Dead`Sea mud that is supposed to be very good for you. Then we walked down to the edge of the sea and gently lay in the water. It was amazing because you really do just float without even trying. Just be careful when you come here that you don't get any in your mouth because it tastes TERRIBLE!!!!

Over the seas and far away!

Greetings from Qatar and Lebanon. The temperature in Qatar was 40 degrees which is very, very hot. Can you find out which sea I am dipping my toes in and eating my dinner beside? A clue: It is not the Dead Sea yet.

A new bird visits the table

If you look very very carefully you will see a new bird in the tree by the bird table. We rushed to look in our native bird books and we think it is a bell bird. What do you think?

Assembly certificates for our cross country champions

Today in assembly Gabby, Riley D, George and Ben got their certificates for being champions at the cross country. They will go to Taieri Beach School for the inter school competition. We will be cheering for you!

Another Visitor

Today Emma brought her beautiful budgie to spend the day with us. We put his cage by the window so that he could chat to the wax eyes. He loved our singing and recorder playing and even sang to us. What a musical well cared for budgie Emma.
