Out come the recorders again

It was time to bring out our recorders again. We were delighted this afternoon to hear how beautiful our music sounded.

Time to grow for the sunflower seeds

Do you remember when Ted brought a sunflower head to Room 9 and gradually we pulled off all the seeds? Well it is Spring, the time of growth and today we all planted some of Ted's seeds. Now we will watch and see if our seeds will grow and then Ted's sunflowers will be taken all over the Taieri Plains!

Fun with a jigsaw puzzle

At lunch time I wanted to do this mini wasgij puzzle. Did you now that wasgij is jigsaw spelt backwards because the puzzle is not the same as the cover. It's the back view. The back view picture is a picture of a huge ape smashing a ladies pink car while some monkeys are running away. It only took a few minutes to do a 100 pieces puzzle. "I really like the grin on that huge ape's hairy face," said Andrew. "I really like the Apes destroying the car," said Jacob. We really enjoyed doing the wasgij puzzle. Next time we are doing the Where is Wally puzzle.

We started the day with a great clean up of our cubby holes. We were looking for lost library books!  In maths we made 3D shapes from nets while in theme we watched another episode of Tuktu and tried some Inuit games of strength and skill. Finally we had our first gymnastics session where we worked at our forward and backward rolls.

Arrays, arrays, arrays!

We are learning how to use arrays in maths. I have made an array with counters. We use arrays when we are doing multiplying. Maths is so fun!

Inuit Visitors

I got two inuit dolls from my Nanny and Grandad. They got them from Canada. I like their piggy tails.
One is mine and the other one belongs to my sister.

What a treat!

This afternoon we were able to watch the Stars on Stage team perform. It is nearly time for their performance at the Regent Theatre. We thought they were terrific!
