We're all going on a picnic

On Tuesday we went to Skerrie Street for the Middle Syndicate's picnic. It was a ball of fun. We all got an iceblock.  I got a pink one. Demi, Meg and Bridgette were making a fairy house under the tree.

What a challenge

One  morning  Olivia  Hunter  and  I  got  out  the  block  tower.  It  got  easy  at  the  start  but  it  got  
harder  and  harder  block  by  block.  The  tower  got  fragile.  It  was  as  fragile  as  a  feather.

Flower Show Art

We had a busy session in the Workshop today finishing our Flower Show Art. In our first session we painted the sea. Today we made a beautiful tropical fish using chalks and oil pastels. We had to use hair spray to stop the chalk from smudging. They look brilliant.

Working together challenges

We worked at two more "Working together" challenges. First we played our favourite railway tracks game where it is very important to work as a team. Then in pairs we practiced walking in time with each other. We then joined with another pair, and then another four, and then another eight until the whole class was trying to walk in time with each other. It's great to be stepping out as a team at the start of the year.

Visitors at my place

I found a tiny hedgehog in the garden and it looked very sad. Carefully I brought it inside and gave it some cat food. It was starving. Then, when I was emptying the lawn mower I found another baby hedgehog. It was very hungry too! We made a hedgehog home for Hattie and Hettie and they ate and ate and then slept all night. We fed them again in the morning and again they ate and ate. This evening we let them go in the garden. I hope they survive.

Boris and Bubbles

We have two new goldfish in Room 9. As part of our working together topic we brainstormed names and then each group shared their two most popular names. Finally we had a class vote and Boris and Bubbles were chosen.

Time to meet our new Big Buddies

We went to Room 5 to choose our new Big Buddies. It was so hot that we went outside to sit under the walnut trees to introduce ourselves to our new friends.
