Non stop cricket house competition

At lunch time today over 90 children were involved in house competitions for non stop cricket. We can see Jacob getting ready to bat for the Wakatipu team. I wonder who won your game Jacob?

Today, Jacob's Nana came to watch Jacob put his head under the water. Oh gosh! Where has he gone? We can see you Jacob but only the top of your head. You are a champion!

A great harvest for the Gardening Club

There was great activity at the vegetable garden today. Everyone helped with the harvest and everyone took a bag of fresh vegetables home. I wonder if anyone has their own vegetable garden at home. Who can see Jacob and Joel?

The Outram School Art Show

The Outram School Sketching Club has staged an art exhibition in the school hall. It is terrific. Gene showed us one of his sketches and Joel chose his favourite picture. Don't forget to come and see these brilliant, original art works.

What a busy lunchtime

There is always plenty to do at lunchtime. Joel, George and Mason made rockets in the Allen Centre while Annalise, Emma and Erin practiced netball on the courts. Riley A, Willow and Erin practiced with the kapa haka group in the hall while Trampus, Trent, Ben, George and Jacob made bird treats with Mrs Meehan in the Workshop. What a great school we have!

If it is to be, it is up to me take 2

Mrs Meehan told us about the sparrows that are dying on the Taieri Plains. They are cold and hungry. We can't make houses for them all but we can feed the birds around our school. We showed Mrs Meehan our plans for a garage sale to raise money for bird food.

Disco Dancing

Tyla did some terrific dancing and enjoyed playing with her glow stick.
Gabby and Kezia were judged the best in the pairs dancing. You were great girls. We wonder what was inside your prize bag.
Ethan brought his guitar and joined with the band while they were playing. Good chord work Ethan.
Everyone looked brilliant in their disco dancing clothes. Wow look at that hair!
This evening we had the Junior Disco in the school hall. We danced, had competitions, listened to the band, played with our glow sticks and nibbled food. Emma took some great photos.

Well done Jacob

Jacob presented his prepared talk today and we all loved listening to him. He spoke clearly and confidently and was very well prepared. A great effort Jacob! Next term everyone will present a poem to the class. Which poem will you choose?

Co-operation and teamwork in the sandpit

Damien, Mason, Jacob and Jade spent the lunchtime building wonderful roads for their cars in the sandpit. It is great to see friends co-operating so happily.

We love the Allen Centre

Every Wednesday we race to the Allen Centre to meet Mrs Stedman and Mrs Meehan. We choose new books and we discover what new adventure we will be on. Guess what! We are taking old birds' nests apart and we can find out what the birds use, where the nest may have been found and perhaps what sort of bird made it. Fancy making a nest with just your beak!
