Brilliant Native Bird Art

Welcome back to the Room 9 You Shine Blog!  Term 3 is well underway.  Last week we worked hard at our native bird art.  Look at the concentration of these children as they study the pictures and make their own drawings.  We will be sharing them at assembly this week.

HELLO ROOM 9 FROM ROOM 14

Hi There Room 9 Who Shine!

I thought I would send you a quick note to say "Hello". I hope you are all being very good. I'm sure you are really enjoying having Mrs Wright back at Outram School. I am now teaching in Room 14 at Fairfield School. The children are very hard workers just like you. Mrs Wright will need to keep an eye on the Outram School mailbox, as there will be a special delivery for you very soon! Stay fabulous and keep shining all the time!

An Amazing Effort at Assembly

On Friday it was Room 9's turn to present an item at assembly. We shared some poetry, some things we have learnt in our inquiry unit, our clay animals and we also played some songs on our recorders! Mrs Cormack is very proud of what we have learnt this term and how well we presented our learning!

Busy, busy roads

Dear Room 9
Since last writing we have been in Scotland to an island called Iona. Then we drove back across the border to Carlisle where I was born. The school that I went to has been knocked down and the house I lived in is now a buddhist community! We drove through the lake district and back to the moles of Norfolk. BUT the traffic on the motorways was incredible. Can you imagine zooming along a motorway and suddenly you come to an enormous roundabout with huge signs hanging above it? When you look at the names on the sign you realise that you can't find any of them on your map. 'Help, which way?' Then you hear toots and see angry faces in the rear mirror. I'm looking forward to driving out to Outram again.
See you soon.
Love from Mrs Wright

Creating Works of Art

Mrs Simpson has been working with the us to help us create some fabulous Arctic and Antarctic animals with clay. We have made penguins, arctic foxes, polar bears, seals and whales. Some parts were quite tricky to do, especially making sure that all the parts were joined together properly. Mrs Simpson showed us how to scrape the clay and put some vinegar on it to help it stick together. Next, we get to paint them and we can't wait!

More Cross Country Magic

We were very proud that some fabulous children from Room 9  qualified to run at the Taieri Beach cross country. They all ran very well and improved on their places from the Outram School cross country. Well done to you!
