We took a photo of the lawn mower. We think he has a big job.

Letters, letters, letters

Last week we wrote three letters. First we wrote to the children at Elmwood Normal School in Christchurch to let them know we were thinking about them after all the earthquakes. Then we wrote to the children at St Brigid's School offering our sympathy after their bird table got destroyed by vandals. Finally we wrote to Mrs Bellamy to thank her for organising the Talent Quest. It was terrific. We are now letter writing experts!

Extra for experts: What is spring like at your place?

Joe emailed a brilliant slide show to Room 9 showing how beautiful his garden is in spring. Joe took the photos and wrote comments beneath them. What a great effort!

Coins for Christchurch

Daniel, Tim and Isla organised a coin trail at Outram School for the people who suffered during the Christchurch earthquake. Nearly $230 was raised. Room 9 was very pleased to be part of this.

A Friday Treat

Today Ben brought a pet stone for everyone in the class and each stone had a face drawn on it. What a lovely Friday treat Ben. We all loved our present.

Flag Spotting

Every day a different flag is displayed above a house in Anderson's Bay. Let's see how many flags we know. Today's flag is a challenge. Who can name the country that flies this flag?

Oh what a Talent Quest!

This afternoon the whole school gathered in the hall for the Talent Quest. It was terrific with singing, instrumentalists, dancers, a magician, and comedy routines. Todd Gorinski won the new Meehan trophy for the best performer and Emily Harrex won the trophy for the most promising performer. What an afternoon!
