Kitchen Chemistry




We start the term with a science unit called 'Kitchen Chemistry.' To start with we checked our knowledge with a pre-assessment activity. We then discussed what we knew about chemistry and chemicals. The image that quickly emerged was that of the mad scientist with poisonous, dangerous chemicals. When we narrowed our focus to chemicals in the kitchen our definition changed and we began to see chemicals in many every day products.
