Planting for the Little Blue Penguins

On Friday Room 9 and Room 10 drove to Brighton Beach to plant toitoi and flax on Barney's Island to protect the Little Blue Penguins. We were met by Mr Dave McPhee from the Big Rock Protect our Penguins group. It was a steep climb up the side of the island and then we were met by Seth McPhee who showed us how to plant successfully. It was hard work. Weeks ago we had dreamed of doing this and finally we did it. We will always feel a connection with Brighton Beach!
