Food colouring, milk and detergent

Our experiment on Thursday brought gasps of astonishment from the children. We used green, blue and red food colouring. Using eye droppers we added several drops of each colour. Then we added detergent. Detergent is amphiphilic and it pushes and pulls the colours around the dish.

Mrs Wright put a drop of detergent in the milk and food colouring, the colours shot around in a circle and to the sides. Very cool.

With my one it only sat there because Isaac stirred it to much.
