Oh what a celebration!
On Friday we had a shared lunch to celebrate winning the blog competition. Oh what a feast! Oh what happiness! We are still smiling from ear to ear! It has all been such a surprise.

Pet Day - the Grand Parade
Today it was Pet Day. The rain stayed away until everything was finished. All the animals were judged and ribbons and prizes were given to the finalists. There was even a grand parade with bag pipes. We love being a country school.

Did you know that bumble bees sleep in?
We have bumble bees all over the garden and we all know where they are coming from!! But on Saturday morning there was still no sign of them by 9:45 am. Do they really sleep in? I don't know very much about bumble bees. Can you help me find out more about them? I didn't get too close for the photo because they all know that I'm the nest disturber!! Do you think they have good memories?

More Mixing
Today we did some serious mixing of paint. Everyone had different colour combinations such as two teaspoons of blue and one teaspoon of white. We had to mix the colours and then paint a sheet of paper with it. Finally we named our new colour. Polly called this colour, "Love heart red." Oscar called his colour, 'Goldy yoke." Next we will share each other's colours and we will know how to make them.

Room 1 is great
Room 1 is new to Outram school this term. Mrs Buschl is their finest teacher. Isaac is Lilly's little bro and Isla is Hunter' s biggest helping sister.
Do you know anyone incredible in Room 1?
(Thank you Mrs Buschl for letting us interrupt perfect printing.)

Guitar Players shine at Assembly
The Room 9 and Room 10 guitar players had their first public performance at assembly on Friday. We played three songs. Listen to us playing "Rudolph the red nosed reindeer."

What is happening in the compost? A clue!
What has been hibernating in my compost heap? There has been lots of guesses. It is not worms, rats or mice, hedgehogs, kiwis, spiders, birds, or porcupines. I went back to the compost heap and gently brushed the leaves away with my broom. Oh dear! What a commotion! Look carefully at my photo and you might see what was angry about being disturbed.

Watch us go!
One of our fitness activities is making railway tracks.
People line up in single file with a leader at the front.
The leader runs ahead for about five paces and then lies down and the rest of the team will jump over that person.
The new leader will run five paces past the person on the ground and then also lie down.
Whoever is the leader of the runners continues the same pattern, lying down five paces in front of the person on the ground.
When all the runners have passed over the last person on the ground, that person stands and joins the back of the line of runners.
In this way we move all the way to the goal posts and back, seeing how fast we can do it.
